This is especially true at emerging growth and middle market companies. CFOs must have a wide range of skills to support staffs that can be very lean. A Hardesty partner adds real value to these companies, capable of performing a full array of competencies from the top of the Board/Investor level and down to the most basic tasks. It’s just part of the encompassing CFO role.
Recently, Hardesty partners Tim De Cou and Bob Smart, along with Bob’s wife Joia, donated their time to an outstanding cause. Bob now has the honorable title of “Chief Dish Washer” and Joia cooks at RAD Camp. With an all-volunteer team, Bob and Joia are able to deliver an astounding 1,000+ meals a day. This is a 24/7 role at the camp for the duration of the event.
“RAD” stands for RISING ABOVE DISABILITIES and is a special place for adult and children campers who have a variety of disabilities. It all takes place for a week at the Irvine Outdoor Education Center in Orange, CA and lets the campers have fun and enjoy the company of others overcoming challenges. This also gives a much-needed break for the year-round caretakers.
RAD Camps provide two summer camps each year. The first week of July serves adults 18 years of age and older. The second week of July serves children 4 to 17 years of age. RAD, the vision of Katie Web and Meghan Clem, is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and draws 100’s of volunteers from around the U.S.
At Hardesty, we consider volunteering for organizations like Rad Camp a duty and a privilege. Learn more and consider a donation to this worthy cause by visiting: www.radcamp.org.
