Melissa Rhodes is a highly accomplished accounting professional with over eight years of experience as a Financial & Staff Accountant, mainly working in the Manufacturing Industry.

She joined Hardesty in the Fall of 2022 as lead Staff Accountant. Her duties include Billing, Payroll, Customer/Project Setup, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Assisting with Month-end Closing JE’s and reconciliations, Weekly Reporting to Management, Collections, and assisting the Accounting Manager & CFO on an as needed basis. Her background buttresses Hardesty’s extensive group of Manufacturing sector partners and the firm employs her expertise in special client assignments.

Melissa graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2013. She continued her education and graduated with a Master of Science in Accounting at UNCG in 2015. UNCG’s Bryan School of Business holds dual accreditation in business and Accounting from AACSB- a distinction held by only 1% of business schools in the world.

After finishing her degrees, Melissa worked as a Staff Accountant at West-Rock/Multi-Packaging Solutions for 3 years. She oversaw the day-to-day accounting operations at the plant. These responsibilities included Inventory Management, Proper Cost-allocation to jobs, Month-end closing, Daily Sales Reporting, and Working with the Controller to present Monthly Financial Reports to Corporate.

Melissa also worked at Coty, Inc, a multinational beauty company founded in 1904, for a year as a Financial Accountant. At Coty, she managed IT Fixed Assets and CAPEX projects for the Shared Service Center in Sanford, NC. Her duties also included Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Financial Reporting.

She is also a working mother of two helping to support her family and her husband who is active-duty US Military.
