James Sorenson is currently a Partner in the Orange County office of Hardesty. During a distinguished 30-plus-year career as a Chief Financial Officer, he has managed 4 initial public offerings and one secondary offering. He has also negotiated various private fund raising transactions and numerous lines of credit. He twice has held the positions of Chief Operating officer and Chief Information Officer. James has particular expertise in business processes and financial and operational management information systems.
As consultant and then Chief Financial Officer, James recently designed best-in-class systems and controls for a rapidly growing HealthCare company. He developed and installed an integrated management information system as well as associated policies and procedures. He also negotiated bank financings and managed a private equity capital raise as Chief Financial Officer of Delphi Display Systems, Inc., a $25 million private equity sponsored manufacturer of intelligent outdoor displays and related software for the quick service restaurant market.
Additionally, James has held the role of CFO for Infotec Commercial Systems, a $35 million venture-backed provider of classroom and online education for IT professionals; Alpha Microsystems, a $100 million (NASDAQ) international manufacturer of computer systems and developer of proprietary operating systems; and Plitt Theaters, a feature film exhibitor with revenues in excess of $250 million.
James started his career at Ernst & Young. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in accounting degree from University of Wisconsin, is an active member in both the Association for Corporate Growth and the Forum for Corporate Directors, and is a CPA.
