Our client an accounting firm is seeking Seasonal Tax Managers.
Overview
The Tax Manager manages multiple engagements to deliver quality tax return preparation, tax planning, tax-related audits, financial review, analytic worksheets and other client-specific special projects.
- Responds to and fulfills clients’ requests and requirements in a timely and accurate manner (by email and/or phone call), particularly in resolving clients’ issues with any tax governing agencies. In accomplishing this function, the Manager is expected to update the Partner on the progress of these requests.
- Prepares the more complex Federal and State Individual, Partnership, Trust, and Corporate and Exempt tax returns and identifies Tax, Retirement, and Estate planning opportunities.
- Reviews tax returns for accuracy, minimization of tax liability, available tax credits, and compliance with relevant tax provisions and approves these returns with the exception of those dealing with specialized issues that require the expertise of a Partner.
- Reviews audit trail and represents clients during federal, state, and local tax audits and responds on their behalf to correspondences from all tax governing agencies.
- Manages a book of business (managed billing) pertaining to individual and corporate tax returns, Financial Statement Reviews and Compilations, and monthly Business Advisory Services (BAS) accounts.
- Prepares and analyzes annual YAAG projections and monthly financial statements and presents these to the clients and/or Partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
BA in Accounting, Finance or Management, 5-10 years experience in Individual & Corporate Tax preparation, Non-Accounting Degree 10+ years experience, CPA, EA preferred, Tax Planning Analysis
Desired Qualifications:
Financial Statement Analysis, Preparation of reviewed and compiled financial statements, Experience with Lacerte software, SurePrep, IPM, Smart Vault preferred. Heavy experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), QuickBooks knowledge.

- Identify opportunities to minimize the effective tax rate
- Oversee non-income tax compliance
- Prepare for and lead tax audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years’ of experience of professional tax experience
- Strong communication and analytical skills
Compensation
$50 – $60 per hour
