Chief Financial Officer

About the job

Our client is a fast-growing consumer electronics, company headquartered in New Hampshire in search of a strategic and hands on CFO. The CFO will be a key management member in growing the Company.

Permanent CFO Role:

The CFO is a critical role with purview over substantially all the Company’s operations. The CFO has the overall responsibility for the company’s operations, financial and administrative function. The CFO is responsible for managing all aspects of accounting while ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The “right fit” in the CFO role will be extremely hands on and have a sense of urgency necessary to scale the company and operate with the cadence necessary to function efficiently.

  • Key management member responsible for the overall financial functions of the Company
  • Will lead, facilitate and bring to consensus cross-functional task teams in the design, implementation and sustainment of new process solutions.
  • Management of ERP design and implementations
  • Reviews and maintains financial records to ensure accessibility and readiness for internal and external needs
  • Oversee all matters related to accounting, including preparing monthly financial statements and managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll functions
  • Develop / Teach / Train & Review the journal entry and balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Build FP&A
  • Build data capture and reporting systems to track and report GAAP revenue, profitability & performance by segment / SKU / CPG metrics, etc.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close:
  • Build Data Analytics
  • Issue timely and complete monthly and quarterly and statements and reporting package with supporting schedules
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements including supporting schedules
  • Supervise site accounting management assuring

– General ledger is properly maintained, in compliance with GAAP, and analyzed

– Cost Accounting is accurate and reflects contract obligations

– Revenue recognition – ASC 606

– Bank Reconciliations and other month-end work products are consistently prepared

– Accounting discrepancies and or irregularities are promptly identified and resolved.

– Business agreements are routinely reviewed to determine the effect on accounting, and to ensure the company stays in compliance and meets all covenants

– Proper planning and analysis to generate and distribute year-end 1099 & 1096 forms

– Assembly and preparation of schedules for tax returns

  • Recommend benchmarks and operating metrics for financial performance measurement
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Manage audit process
  • Develops, implement and/or makes enhancements to accounting control procedures
  • Prepare and analyze accretion revenue and portfolio performance on monthly basis
  • Invest in IT and systems

 

Qualifications / Skill Set

  • Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in these areas:
  • Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and ability to research accounting standards
  • Leadership
  • M&A Experience
  • Extremely high business ethics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff, colleagues and executives
  • Attention to detail, highly organized and ability to multi-task
  • Meeting critical deadlines with high-quality work product
  • Microsoft Office proficiency including Advanced Excel usage
  • Strong Analytical skills and attention to detail; problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with to rapid adaptability to a face-paced environment
  • Identify, drive and implement change opportunities and initiatives

 

Education / Credentialing

  • CPA, experience at a public accounting firm is a plus
  • BS in Business, Accounting or Finance, MBA is a plus
  • Distribution/Wholesale Experience Preferred

 

Summary

This is a key executive role in the Company that has the potential to develop into one of the most operationally knowledgeable positions in the Company. Compensation

Annual base compensation for this role will be competitive depending on experience with the potential for an annual bonus. The Company has a competitive benefits package.
